To qualify for inclusion, students must have completed at least 30 hours at a University of South Carolina campus with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00, and have achieved a 3.5 - 3.94 grade-point average for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters while being registered each semester for 12 or more hours on the Sumter campus, of which at least six hours must be USC Sumter courses.

Approximately 300 students were eligible to walk in Coastal Carolina University's summer graduation ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the HTC Center. Pam Martin, Ph.D., professor of politics and international relations, discussed the true value of their diplomas as they begin a new chapter in their lives and placed the new graduates' achievement in a global perspective. "Slightly under 7 percent of the world's population has the degree that you have earned today," she said. "Sixty percent of your fellow U.S. citizens do not have such a degree. Given these statistics, it is clear that you have something to celebrate today!"

Dean's List is a recognition given to students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (Incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester.

Georgia Southern University recently named 2,611 students for excellence in academics to the 2015 Spring Semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Clemson University has announced the Dean's List for the spring 2015 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that 560 students have made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the Spring Semester 2015.

Troy University is pleased to recognize students who completed the requirements for graduation during Term 4 of the 2014/2015 academic year. Term 4 graduates include students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., and Global Campus, which consists of teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

USC Sumter Spring 2015 Dean's List

Wofford College conferred degrees to 368 graduates at the 161st Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

University Ambassadors represent USC Sumter both on and off campus. The core duty of this organization is to assist with new student orientation (SOAR), but Ambassadors also provide campus tours for prospective students and accompany the USC Sumter Admissions staff to various high school recruitment events.

More than 1,100 students were eligible for degrees at Coastal Carolina University's commencement May 9 at the HTC Center. Michael J. Gerson, a nationally syndicated political columnist and former aide to President George W. Bush, told graduates not to seek a sense of purpose in fame or worldly success. He advised students to "know who you are, be open to grace, and find the freedom to live lightly and generously." Six students were given the President's Award for having a 4.0 grade point average.

Wofford seniors Margaret Carraway, Zoe Paist, Anna Henson, Maggie Stroud, Kirsten Frost and Taylor Brown will be teaching in low-income communities this fall as part of the Teach For America program.

USC Sumter students participated in one or more internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semester. USC Sumter's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student works closely with the Palmetto Programs Coordinator and can earn credits toward their degree requirements for successfully completing the internship (depending on the placement).

Some 147 Coastal Carolina University students were inducted into the campus chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. The annual induction was held April 16, with Juliana Harding, assistant professor of marine science, delivering the keynote address.
